Oxford Airport Gets Its First International Flight

14 October 2009 – The Independent

It was announced on October 13 that Oxford, one of the most popular tourist destinations in England, will receive its first international flight this December.

Baboo, an airline based in Geneva, Switzerand, which regularly serves 19 destinations in Europe, will operate weekly flights from Geneva beginning Saturday December 19. Prices begin from £78 (€84) each way, all taxes and fees included.

Flights will depart Geneva at 12:20, arriving in Oxford one hour later, and then depart Oxford at 14:05 and arrive in Switzerland at 5 in the evening.

Oxford, the third most visited city in England after London and Manchester, attracts more than 10 million international visitors a year. The city is home to the oldest university in the English-speaking world, famed for its skyline of “dreaming spires” and just 50 miles (80 kilometers) away from London.
