Reuben Brothers are a significant investor in modular housebuilder Project Etopia. RB’s investment in September 2019 has followed equity raised from Lord Stanley Fink and allowed the Cambridge-based developer to accelerate its expansion plans.
The company was founded in 2015 and has opened a factory in Cheshire, with capacity to produce 2,000 homes a year. Project Etopia uses energy-efficient designs to deliver high-quality affordable housing at great speed.
Project Etopia’s modular construction methods use the 4Wall Structurally Insulated Panel, which has been independently recommended by the community interest company, Carbon Free Group as the ‘best’ panel available in the UK. It offers a range of advantages over the timber frame and concrete used within the industry.
Project Etopia has rolled out its modular solution to its site in Corby, Northamptonshire, where first of its 47 eco homes were completed in September 2019. The development has been chosen as one of five ‘Building for 2050’ research projects funded by the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy and is a model of how communities of the future can be developed quicker and more affordably.
