arc logoThrough the acquisition of Arena Leisure Plc in March 2012, and the subsequent merger with Northern Racing Ltd, Reuben Brothers own Britain’s largest horse and greyhound racing group, Arena Racing Company (“ARC”). The group owns and operates 16 turf and all-weather racecourses in the UK, accounting for nearly 40% of UK fixtures, over 500 race meetings a year as well as five greyhound stadia.

ARC is made up of the following sixteen racecourses: Bath, Brighton, Chepstow, Doncaster, Ffos Las, Fontwell Park, Great Yarmouth, Hereford, Lingfield Park, Newcastle, Royal Windsor, Sedgefield, Southwell, Uttoxeter, Wolverhampton and Worcester.

Through its ownership of Doncaster Racecourse, ARC is responsible for hosting the world’s oldest Classic, the St Leger, part of the four-day St Leger Festival in September.

Other big racedays in the ARC calendar include the All-Weather Championships £1 million Finals Day on Good Friday, the Coral Welsh Grand National at Chepstow, the Northumberland Plate Festival at Newcastle and the Midlands Grand National at Uttoxeter, as well as exciting non-racing events such as live music concerts.

In addition to racecourses ARC owns Central Park, Newcastle, Nottingham, Sunderland and Perry Barr Greyhound Stadia and looks after the media interests of the Greyhound Media Group (“GMG”).

Each ARC venue provides versatile hospitality space which is also used for corporate events including conferences, meetings, exhibitions and more, via the YourVenue brand. In addition, ARC operates three golf courses at Newcastle, Lingfield Park Resort and Southwell Racecourses.

ARC also owns and operates three hotels, the 4-star Marriott Hotel & Country Club at Lingfield Park Resort, the Holiday Inn at Wolverhampton Racecourse and the Hilton Garden Inn at Doncaster Racecourse, which opened in 2018.

The group is also a major shareholder in At The Races (“ATR”), the broadcaster that takes racing coverage to up to 2 million different TV viewers on Sky Sports Racing and 2.8m online users each month in the UK and Ireland via AtTheRaces.com.  ATR also distributes UK racing into over 20 countries around the world and won ‘Best Specialist Channel’ at the Broadcast Digital Awards 2012.

In 2015 ARC set up The Racing Partnership. This limited company represents the media rights of the 16 ARC owned-racecourses and the five independent racecourses Fakenham, Hexham, Newton Abbot, Plumpton and Ripon.
