More than 30,000 sq ft of retail space has been let at Merchant Square in London’s Paddington, including a new restaurant, a health club and a nursery. Hospitality group Faucet Inn has taken space in European Land’s 5 Merchant Square (pictured), where it will be launching its Scandinavian-focused ‘All Day Casual Dining’ concept, KuPP. Virgin Active has signed up for just over 21,000 sq ft across three floors at the Marks & Spencer-anchored scheme. In 3 Merchant Square, a day nursery run by All About Children, is expected to open in September. The building is the third to be developed following the completion of 4 and 5 Merchant Square in 2010. When the whole regeneration project is complete Merchant Square will comprise six buildings, including 1 Merchant Square, a 42-storey skyscraper incorporating flats and a boutique hotel. In total, Merchant Square will provide more than 600 residential units and 500,000 sq ft of office space.
