Geneva, 22nd December 2005 – ERMEWA, the rail freight business of which the Reuben brothers own 50.4 per cent, has acquired the 50 per cent stake of Eurotainer previously held by Brambles. This is a major development for ERMEWA giving the Group a better stand in terms of business activities, market position, geographical and currency exposure as well as IRR. ERMEWA now owns 100% of Eurotainer, the world’s second largest tank container rental company.
This acquisition enables ERMEWA to balance its portfolio of activities and strengthen its growth, thus consolidating its position as a European leader in the management of specialised transport assets.
Since the release of the communiqué, the German authorities have given their approval to the deal.
