Shares in Arena Leisure jumped 10 per cent yesterday after the Reuben brothers raised their stake in the racecourse operator by 3 percent to more than 26 percent. The brothers, who are also the owners of Northern Racing, are the second-biggest stakeholders in Arena, which owns seven racecourses, following Trevor Hemmings who controls a 41 percent stake. City analysts expect the Reuben brothers to attempt to merge the business, which is a leading investor in the At The Races TV channel, with Northern, which owns nine courses.
