LONDON & CONTINENTAL RAILWAYS STATEMENT

22 March 2006

Stephen Jordan, Managing Director of London & Continental Railways, Stations and Property division (LCSP) said:

"We remain extremely disappointed with the continuing comments from the Mayor of London regarding Stratford City in general and the Reuben brothers in particular. The Mayor's singling out of the Reuben brothers in this way has no credible basis. Such comments are destructive and offensive. The Reubens have shown a commitment equal to any partner as shareholders within Stratford City Developments Limited.

Our priority remains the delivery of Stratford City, as key parts of both a successful Games in 2012 and the legacy of the regeneration of east London with the homes, jobs and facilities this will provide. Nothing will divert us from maintaining our exemplary track record of delivering major projects on schedule."
