We acquired Oxford Airport in Kidlington, Oxfordshire, located just 40 miles to the north west of London and 6 miles north of Oxford city centre. Oxford airport had over 50,600 movements (take-offs and landings) in 2007 and employs c. 52 people. The airport consists of over 564 acres of mainly freehold land and provides over 170,000 sq ft of hangarage space, as well as substantial office, workshop and accommodation space within its numerous buildings.
Given the ever-increasing congestion and restrictions suffered by users at other airports, Oxford Airport offers a unique opportunity for travelers in the London and Midlands area to benefit from its easy access and facilities.
Significant works have recently been undertaken, including the installation of a new navigational system and widening of the runway to equal that of London City Airport in terms of length, width and specification. In addition, work has started on a on a brand new, first class business aviation terminal to cater for private jet passengers and crew. Scheduled for completion in June 2008, the new facility will triple the space of the existing general aviation terminal, and marks a step towards Oxford Airport offering a fully fledged executive handling operation. These improvements are all part of the long-term property and operational development that will turn Oxford Airport into a premier business aviation facility and regional airport.
