The Racing Partnership (TRP), the new third betting shop channel that launched at the start of the month has expanded the number of shops signed to the service to more than 900 with the announcement of deals in Ireland and Britain.

It has gained a significant number of new subscribers in Ireland through BoyleSports, Sean Graham, Bar One, Track Sports, Bambury, Tulley, Foxes and Mulholland.  TRP director, Mark Kingston, said: “It is great news to have signed up a large number of independent LBOs (licensed betting offices) in Ireland and the UK in the same week that the channel successfully went on air.”

In addition to the Irish betting offices East Midlands based independent operator Mark Jarvis has signed up his 57 shops to TRP. Managing Director David Cox said “Naturally we have thought over matter very carefully and, at the end of the day, it comes down to the fact that TRP content is essential for us. This is particularly the case from January 1, when six key racecourses move from SIS to TRP, including Lingfield, Wolverhampton and Southwell.”

TRP, which represents for 15 Arena Racing Company-owned race courses and seven independent racecourses – Fakenham, Ffos Las, Hexham, Newton Abbot, Plumpton, Ripon and Towcester – has yet to sign deals with the major retail operators in Britain.

In August TRP announced that pictures from its tracks would be broadcast to almost 500 independent betting shops, after group signed a deal with Bookmakers Technology Consortium. It was recently revealed that TRP and Turf TV had agreed to share satellite infrastructure across existing estate of Turf TV Independent bookmaker customers in the Ireland and UK.
